In the last years, the number of restaurants in Bucharest has grown enormously. Ten years ago the choice was limited more or less to European cuisine, but today there is a wide-range of restaurants with cuisine from all over the world. From typical Romanian Tavernas to Thai-food bars to authentic Japanese restaurants, you can find just about anything you like. For restaurant critics, listings and recommendation there are several resources you can check:
- The newspaper Ziarul Financial, in its "Dupa Afaceri" (After Business) section, features frequent critics of Bucharest Restaurants (Romanian only) - www.zf.ro
- Another source for restaurant critics is Time Out Bucharest. In the section "Unde Mancam" (Where do we eat) Time Out presents a long list of Bucharest Restaurants (Romanian language only) - www.timeoutbucuresti.ro

Hint! In Romania, a 5-10% tip should be offered if the service was excellent. Romanians often emphasize that one tips only if one wants to! This is our completely restructured restaurant section. We received some feedback about splitting our recommendations into the different cuisines - here we go. The restaurant section was put together with the help of City Compass Contributor Claudia Bider Heim. Claudia has been living in Romania since 2007 and runs Around Birth, a midwifery company.
