As most of the movies broadcasted by TV stations in Romania are in English, this could be a good source of entertainment for some. Here are the main movie channels in Romania:
HBO, HBO Comedy, AXN, Diva Universal, AXN Sci Fi, AXN Crime, ProCinema, Cinemax, TCM, TV 1000, MGM, Universal, Boom TV, Digi Film. Make sure to check with your cable provider

what channels they include in their package first, before being disappointed, as they all vary. More movie channels are usually included in the more expensive packages.

The Bucharest radio spectrum offers stations for every music genre, from rock to alternative to news stations. The Romanian Church even has its own station called ‘Trinity’. If you are looking for traffic information, tune in to Radio Europa FM, which provides information about traffic jams, accidents and radar for Bucharest and the National roads.

A funky station we recommend is Radio Guerrilla. It plays less commercial music, offers some comedy shows and our Romanian colleagues say that it makes their day a little ‘pinker’ (or more colorful)! Below, you will find a variety of stations in English, German and Romanian.

There are plenty of TV stations in Romania but unfortunately none exclusively in English. The Money Channel, a TV station focusing on business and economy, runs some short, text news in English on the crawl at the bottom of its screen.

The main news TV stations in Romania are Realitatea TV and Antena 3. There is also an array of TV stations that are state-funded, part of TVR – TVR 1, TVR 2, TVR Info, among others.  There are also private commercial TV stations like Pro TV, Antena 1, Prima TV.

If you miss international TV channels, most cable operators in Romania broadcast CNN, BBC, Euronews, CNBC. With a satellite dish you could even tune it to your home country TV station.
