I was born in Biberach, Germany. After graduating at Konstanz University (Public Policy and Management), I worked as a Project Coordinator for a Russian-German study program at the Center for Global Politics at Free University Berlin. Even though I had lived in foreign countries during my education, Bucharest was by far the hardest city to adapt so far. But after I had started to like it (with great help of Cristian and Christian), I am convinced that we can also help other newcomers to adapt and get to know the city faster and more detailed - which is why we started the project City Compass together, which partners with Romania Business Insider.

I have lived since May 2007 in Bucharest. Together with Volker and Cristian we founded in 2008 CityCompass

My professional passion is people development and training and so I am part of the CityCompass trainers team. I love to spend my time in Bucharest in cozy tea-houses, theaters or in one of the diverse parks in town. In my free time I am, as a lot of Germans are, passionate for hiking and I usually go to discover new spots in Bucharest. I am a journalist based in Romania; I was born in Vrancea county and moved to the capital city Bucharest to pursue my high school and university studies. I hold a BA in Journalism from the University in Bucharest and I have been working as a journalist since 2005. In 2010 I launched the English - language news website Romania-Insider.com. At City Compass, I am in charge with supervising the editorial content of the Bucharest, Romania and Beyond guide and with the bi-monthly newsletter. Besides my passion for the media, I am also interested in countryside development, gardening, photography, cooking and traveling.

Originally from Cluj-Napoca, I have moved to Bucharest in 2000, where I have lived since, with an off-period of 5 years living abroad. I have a broad international experience, having lived in Germany and Scotland for studies, Barcelona for an MBA and Amsterdam for a consulting job. Returning to Bucharest in 2008, I now have a better understanding of Romanian and international culture and what it is that can help internationals adapt better to life in Romania, particularly Bucharest. Being a Founder and Partner of the first fully-specialised interim management company in Romania, Quest Advisors, I have recently joined the City Compass team where I am responsible for developing and organizing tours & events as well as for the relocation services offered to expatriates.

I'm a Romanian born in Bucharest and avid to know more about my country and the world I live in. I'm fascinated about people and theirinteractions from teams in corporate environments to sangha in Buddhist monasteries. I had a one-year relocation in Switzerland and understood that home is where your heart is. I love to talk about social projects, photography, trekking and traveling to places which make you feel close to the inner you. Born, raised, educated, living in Bucharest. I have a PhD in history from the University of Bucharest and as my title describes it best, I am a cultural and historical consultant for City Compass. In a love/hate relationship with the Capital of Romania; the love part involves discovering new beautiful parts of the city and feeling the need to share them with everybody.

I set up CVO Recruitment’s Bucharest office in 2006 and am responsible for local P&L, strategic, financial, and people management, plus revenue generation and administration, and since July 2009 have part-owned the business. I graduated from Christ Church, University of Oxford, with an MA Hons in French and German and have been doing business in Romania since 2004. At City Compass, I deliver intercultural (business) coaching and training.
