There are several options for getting around drinking the tap water in Bucharest (we would not recommend drinking tap water). The worst is probably buying it in large quantities in supermarkets- it is relatively expensive, and with those hot summers you cannot buy enough of it… There are some water delivery services that are a good option for home deliveries. Another option is to buy a water purifier, which filters the tap water with 5 different filters. We have had very good experiences with this option. One-off costs approx. RON 1000, and then around RON 35 every 6 months (filter changes).
